Good Monday morning to you!

Interest rates had a favorable decline this week, which continues to make this a great time to be in the market. I saw numerous local lenders with 30 and 15 year FIXED rates at below 5% - these figures are historically low, and will not last forever.

Check this out…just released from Local Market Monitor:
“According to the forecast, among the largest US markets—identified as those with populations greater than 600,000—the 10 markets with the best expected performance in home price are:
Baton Rouge, LA
Buffalo-Niagara Falls, NY
Dallas-Plano-Irving, TX
Fort Worth-Arlington, TX
Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown, TX
Little Rock-North Little Rock-Conway, AR
Omaha-Council Bluffs, NE-IA

These top markets, where home values are expected to remain level, are among those markets that did not have a big housing boom and have had relatively small job losses over the past year.”

Got a dream?

by Ashton Gustafson

The folks at the Munir Abdul Lalani Center for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise in the Dillard College of Business Administration at Midwestern State University, along with the support of the city’s business sector, have come up with a plan — (imagine/design/engage/act) — to help someone achieve his or her dream of starting his or her own business.  The competition is open to anyone, anywhere, who wants to start a business, or even expand an existing business in Wichita Falls.  To be eligible, the entrepreneur must agree to be located in Wichita Falls for at least three years.  Also, the business must project that more than 75 percent of its revenue will come from outside of Wichita, Archer, and Clay counties, and that it must create at least five new jobs.  The first-place winner will receive $5,000 in cash and $15,000 in in-kind services, such as legal, accounting, marketing, and Web design.  For a complete story, click on

Wichita Falls Weekly Real Estate Update

by Ashton Gustafson

Good Monday morning to you and Happy Labor Day!

Its hard to believe that we are now 2/3 into 2009. 1st Time Home Buyers now have roughly 90 days to find a home and close before the Tax Credit expires. I saw rates this week hit 5.25% FIXED for 30 Years with local lenders this week - its time to capitalize on this opportunity.

And don't forget my Stimulus Package for buyers! I have negotiated discounts with numerous local vendors to make your next move affordable and stress free. Call or email me if you would like more details.

I hope you and yours have a great Labor Day Holiday - and if you're free this Thursday from 5:30 - 7:00, Kevin Rhine and I will be playing the Summer Music Series @ The Museum at Sikes Lake - should be a great time!
